The Oakridge Estate Park at 18650 Devonshire Street
The Los Angeles Park Rangers Mounted Unit From the Department of Recreation and Parks will visit local youth for an “up-close equine experience”. Come meet two of the unit’s prized Quarter horses – Sherman and Trigger! What do horse smell like? What do they eat? How heavy is a horseshoe?
The Mounted Officers will introduce you to their horses as they groom and saddle them up!
The historic Oakridge Estate Park opened in December 2018. The eight-acre park has a rich Thoroughbred history. Marwyck Ranch and Northridge Farms operated from 1937-1961 breeding and training Thoroughbreds to race at tracks across the county.
